Biomass

Biomass boilers

Biomass boilers use wood pellet, wood chip or logs as the fuel for your home's central heating and hot water.

A renewable fuel that will not run out

Biomass is classed as a renewable source because the wood can simply be a waste product from other manufacturing processes, or be grown in a sustainable forest. Either way, this fuel source will never run out.

The most traditional form of home heating

Biomass is probably the oldest way of heating a home: biomass boilers burn wood pellets, chippings or logs to power your central heating and heat your hot water.

Burning wood may seem at odds with clean, green energy, but the CO2 produced is absorbed by growing trees. As long as the fuel comes from a sustainable forest, wood fuelled systems are classed as carbon neutral.
